Health befasst sich mit den Zusammenh\u00e4ngen zwischen der Gesundheit des Menschen und der Gesundheit unseres Planeten. Bereits jetzt hat die zunehmende Zerst\u00f6rung der \u00d6kosysteme durch die raumgreifende Lebensweise des Menschen negativen Einfluss auf unsere Gesundheit, zuvorderst durch Umweltverschmutzung, Artensterben und die voranschreitende Klimakrise. Diese zunehmende \u00dcberschreitung planetarer Grenzen ist f\u00fcr die Gesellschaften eine beispiellose Herausforderung.<\/p>\n<p>Es gilt nun, diese Entwicklung im Kontext von Gesundheit und Medizin zu ber\u00fccksichtigen \u2013 und die Wissenschaften rund um die Medizin zu ert\u00fcchtigen, sich eingehend mit den Konsequenzen f\u00fcr die Gesundheit auseinanderzusetzen. Beispiele sind die t\u00f6dlichen Auswirkungen von Hitzewellen, die Zunahme von Allergien oder auch das Auftreten neuartiger Krankheitserreger.<\/p>\n<p>Zu Beginn hatte dieses Buchprojekt den Arbeitstitel Klimawandel und Gesundheit. W\u00e4hrend der Entstehung wurde schnell klar, dass auch das Artensterben, unsere raumgreifende Lebensweise sowie die Verschmutzung von Land, Wasser und Luft die Krankheitslast erh\u00f6hen. Das Bild, das es zu zeichnen galt, wurde dadurch komplexer, gr\u00f6\u00dfer und die Inhalte verflochtener, die Aussagen noch politischer&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>\n<style type=\"text\/css\"
