Unser kollektives Verhalten in der Klimakrise \u00e4hnelt der Situation, nachts mit voller Blase aufzuwachen. Wir wissen, was zu tun ist. Wir wissen, dass es von allein nicht besser wird. Aber wir stellen uns schlafend, in der Hoffnung, dass sich die Probleme irgendwie durch Ignorieren aufl\u00f6sen. Tun sie nicht. Was hilft: Aufwachen, Augen auf \u2013 und Handeln.<br \/>\n<br class=\"avia-permanent-lb\" \/>Die Erkenntnis, dass der Mensch dramatische Ver\u00e4nderungen des Klimas und der \u00d6kosysteme unseres Planeten verursacht, ist nicht neu. Bereits 1972 hat der Club of Rome die \u201eGrenzen des Wachstums\u201c abgesteckt (Meadows 1972), NASA-Wissenschaftler Dr. James E. Hansen hat 1988 im US-Kongress \u00fcber den menschengemachten Klimawandel berichtet (New York Times 1988), sp\u00e4testens 2009 haben die Expert:innen des Potsdam-Instituts f\u00fcr Klimafolgenforschung (PIK) das Konzept der planetaren Grenzen und der Kipppunkte, nach deren Erreichen die Welt nie wieder wird wie zuvor, ausf\u00fchrlich beschrieben (Rockstr\u00f6m et al. 2009). Und trotzdem ist die Auseinandersetzung mit der Klimakrise f\u00fcr viele erst wirklich real geworden, seit ein schwedisches M\u00e4dchen am 20. August 2018 begonnen hat, zu streiken, statt zur Schule zu gehen. Greta Thunberg hat mit Fridays for Future eine globale Bewegung gestartet und die Welt aufger\u00fcttelt. Why our brains are wired to ignore climate change\u201c eine ausf\u00fchrlichere Antwort geliefert (Marshall 2014). Die Klimakrise ist ein Problem, das allen Mechanismen widerspricht, die die Evolution uns mitgegeben hat, um Gefahren zu begegnen. Wenn unser Haus brennt, rennen wir sofort raus und geben alles, um unsere Angeh\u00f6rigen und sogar Fremde zu retten. Die Klimakommunikation der letzten 30 Jahre, die das Thema als Wissenschafts- oder Technikthema, als Thema von Eisb\u00e4ren oder fernen L\u00e4ndern behandelt hat, hat uns nicht aus der kollektiven Lethargie rei\u00dfen k\u00f6nnen. Daf\u00fcr brauchte es Jugendliche, die die Krise als ihre eigene erkannt haben: \u201eWir sind hier, wir sind laut, weil ihr uns die Zukunft klaut!\u201c Und pl\u00f6tzlich war es deutlich schwerer, Schon der Bericht des Weltklimarates 2021 hat gezeigt: Der Klimawandel kommt noch schneller als bef\u00fcrchtet. Wir haben bereits im letzten Jahrzehnt eine Erw\u00e4rmung um 1,1 Grad Celsius erreicht und unser Budget an Treibhausgas, das wir noch aussto\u00dfen d\u00fcrfen, um unter 1,5 Grad zu bleiben, ist noch geringer als gedacht (IPCC 2021). Die Folgen sind immer deutlicher sichtbar, Berichte \u00fcber weltweite Hitzesommer, D\u00fcrren, \u00dcberflutungen und Hurrikans \u00fcberschlagen sich. Uns gehen die Superlative aus, st\u00e4ndig ist von \u201eJahrhundertereignissen\u201c die Rede, obwohl dieses Jahrhundert gerade erst angefangen hat. Das Ziel der Weltgemeinschaft, den Temperaturanstieg auf 1,5 Grad zu beschr\u00e4nken, ist nur noch mit gro\u00dfer Anstrengung zu erreichen. Eine internationale Forschergruppe um Johannes Rockstr\u00f6m, den Direktor des PIK, hat allerdings gerade noch einmal deutlich gemacht, dass \u201e1,5 Grad\u201c kein willk\u00fcrliches Ziel ist, sondern ein echtes planetares Limit (Armstrong McKay et al 2022). Geben wir dieses Ziel auf, ist das \u00dcberschreiten von Kipppunkten mit drastischen Ver\u00e4nderungen unseres Erdsystems nicht mehr zu stoppen \u2013 die Welt wird eine andere, gef\u00e4hrlicher, ungerechter, mit kaum absehbaren Krisen. Das Projekt \u201eMore in Common\u201c forscht dazu, wo die Klimakrise Gesellschaft eint, und wo sie sie spaltet. Es betrachtet die Bev\u00f6lkerung Deutschlands in sechs Gruppen, von den \u201eOffenen\u201c und den \u201eInvolvierten\u201c bis hin zu den \u201eEntt\u00e4uschten\u201c oder den \u201eW\u00fctenden\u201c. Einigkeit gibt es mittlerweile bei der Problemdiagnose: Weite Teile der Bev\u00f6lkerung (80 Prozent) machen sich Sorgen \u00fcber den Klimawandel. Und auch die Zukunft der Artenvielfalt, der Landschaften sowie der Meere und Ozeane treibt die Menschen in allen Teilen der Gesellschaft um (Gagn\u00e9 u. Krause 2021, S. 10). 71 Prozent erwarten von der Politik einen umfassenden Plan, der z\u00fcgig umgesetzt werden soll. Doch obwohl die allermeisten Menschen \u00fcber mehr Klimaschutz nachdenken und das Thema verbindendes Potenzial hat, nehmen 80 Prozent der Befragten die \u00f6ffentliche Klimadebatte h\u00e4ufig als spaltend wahr und meiden oft Gespr\u00e4che \u00fcber Klimathemen im privaten Umfeld (Gagn\u00e9 u. Krause 2021, S. 40). Denn bei der konkreten Diskussion \u00fcber Ma\u00dfnahmen zum Klimaschutz prallen Interessen aufeinander, werden komplexe technischen L\u00f6sungen hin und her diskutiert, dominieren die Interessen von Lobbygruppen den \u00f6ffentlichen Diskurs. Dabei w\u00fcnscht sich die gro\u00dfe Mehrheit der Menschen Ver\u00e4nderung und eine echte Anstrengung f\u00fcr den Klimaschutz \u2013 solange alle Teile der Gesellschaft nach ihren M\u00f6glichkeiten beitragen und der Wandel im Inland wie auch international \u201efair\u201c gestaltet wird (Melloh et al. 2022, S. 29f.).<br \/>\n<br class=\"avia-permanent-lb\" \/>Auch mit allen Herausforderungen und Limitationen: Die Menschheit hat bewiesen, dass sie gr\u00f6\u00dfte Herausforderungen verstehen, akzeptieren und mit einer einzigartigen F\u00e4higkeit zu gemeinsamem sozialem Handeln l\u00f6sen kann. Im Gegenteil: Im Zweifel tut man gef\u00fchlt mindestens genauso viel oder sogar mehr als die anderen. Gleichzeitig ist die gro\u00dfe Mehrheit von uns der Meinung, dass alle anderen zu wenig tun (Gagn\u00e9 u. Krause 2021, S. 17f.). So wird das nichts mit kollektivem Aktivwerden.<br \/>\n<br class=\"avia-permanent-lb\" \/>Viele Akteur:innen im Klimaschutz scheuen inzwischen davor zur\u00fcck, Forderungen nach individuellem Handeln f\u00fcr den Klimaschutz zu \u00e4u\u00dfern. Und das mit gutem Grund. Der \u00d6lkonzern BP machte das Konzept des CO2-Fu\u00dfabdruck weltweit bekannt, als er 2004 einen Rechner herausbrachte, mit dem Menschen herausfinden k\u00f6nnen, f\u00fcr wie viel CO2-Emissionen sie verantwortlich sind. Praktischer Nebeneffekt: Die Diskussion verlagerte sich f\u00fcr lange Zeit weg von der Verantwortung von Unternehmen und hin auf unser pers\u00f6nliches (Fehl )Verhalten. Heute ist klar: Der gro\u00dfe Hebel liegt in Politik und Wirtschaft, und als einem der gro\u00dfen Player im Land auch im Gesundheitswesen.<br \/>\n<br class=\"avia-permanent-lb\" \/>Trotzdem: Die Verantwortung, die wir tragen, endet nicht an unserer Haust\u00fcr. Und in einer Welt, an der wir im Angesicht der Vielzahl der Krisen oft tats\u00e4chlich wenig tun k\u00f6nnen, ist ein Handeln f\u00fcr Gesundheit und Klimaschutz jederzeit m\u00f6glich \u2013 und gar nicht so schwer. Wir m\u00fcssen ja nicht gleich versuchen, komplett CO2-neutral zu leben (Gratzel 2020). Jeder Tag bietet tausend M\u00f6glichkeiten, sich f\u00fcr die eigene Gesundheit und die des Planeten zu entscheiden. Jede einzelne dieser Entscheidungen scheint klein und unbedeutend, aber sie macht uns zum Teil der Ver\u00e4nderung. In der Summe \u00e4ndern sie Nachfrage und Marktanteile, Verkehrsaufkommen, Diskussionen im privaten und beruflichen Umfeld. Erinnern sie sich an \u201e5 am Tag\u201c? Eine der erfolgreichen Kommunikationskampagnen zu gesundem Verhalten, die den Genuss von mindestens f\u00fcnf St\u00fcck Obst und Gem\u00fcse pro Tag bei vielen Menschen im Kopf verankert hat. Wie w\u00e4re es mit f\u00fcnf Entscheidungen jeden Tag f\u00fcr ein ges\u00fcnderes, klima- und umweltfreundliches, enkeltaugliches Leben. Man vertraut sich und sein Leiden den \u00c4rzt:innen, Pflegefachkr\u00e4ften an, den Menschen, die f\u00fcr Menschen da sind. Dieses hohe Vertrauen in die Gesundheitsberufe zeigt sich konstant in der Befragung, welchen Berufsgruppen wir \u00fcberhaupt trauen (s. Abb. 2). Mehr sichtbarer Einsatz f\u00fcr Klimaschutz als Gesundheitsschutz und Ver\u00e4nderungen hin zu mehr Nachhaltigkeit im Gesundheitswesen entwickeln daher eine hohe Sichtbarkeit und \u00dcberzeugungskraft auch in andere Gesellschaftsbereiche. Ver\u00e4nderungen in der Stahlindustrie wird kaum jemand von uns direkt wahrnehmen. Aber wenn in Arztpraxen, Apotheken, Krankenh\u00e4usern und anderen Gesundheitseinrichtungen Klimaschutz zum Thema wird, wenn Krankenkassen und Unternehmen der Gesundheitswirtschaft sich f\u00fcr Nachhaltigkeit einsetzen und \u00c4nderungen fordern und umsetzen, bekommt jede:r von uns das mit. Neben der Erkenntnis, dass Werte mehr bewirken als Fakten, ist die Einsicht, dass es Multiplikator:innen braucht, denen die Menschen vertrauen, eine der zentralen Erkenntnisse der Klimakommunikation (Marshall 2014, S. 237). Kaum jemand eignet sich besser als die Menschen, die sich in verschiedenen Funktionen f\u00fcr die Gesundheit ihrer Mitmenschen einsetzen.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div>\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><!--
